One very important aspect that should not be overlooked is what was done in response to the incident, and what requests for additional action were made for the future. For example, if the incident-response report called out that more frequent monitoring of company credentials on underground forums would prevent similar attacks in the future, that recommendation (or possibly commitment!) should not be lost in the aftermath of the incident.
